This is the 3rd card in the suit of Pentacles and it talks about teamwork and setting the foundation(s). United labor and shared cause.
Here we see predominantly Saturnian colors (black, grey and smudgy white), as well as some yellows. From its color palette, we can conclude that this is the card of hard and royal work. The spirits of this card are tied to aristocracy and when this card pops up in a reading, their message is to be fair and thorough in your work and dealings.
In the image, we can see a hard worker propped up on a yellowish bench and two figures, one friar-looking and the other one in a yellow robe with orange decorations. These two figures seem to be instructing the worker, so this symbolizes a joint effort.
Above all three of them, we see an arch that has 3 pentacles carved in there, symbolizing teamwork and the three figures below working together toward a shared cause.
3 of Pentacles is all about teamwork, business partners and shared effort towards a united cause. This is the card of Material Dealings and it can be used to make talismans that will attract material luck, possessions and happiness in work.
3 of Pentacles talks about discipline and hard work; this card is an omen of good things to come, especially if you’re building a house or have assembled a team of colleagues/workers in order to complete something.
In the old times this was the card of builders and building structures, in modern times this card foretells of any shared efforts and hard work that needs to be done, but with the omen that the crew is loyal and work will be of good quality.
When the 3 of Pentacles show up reversed it can signify that someone is being lazy, there’s not enough energy and hard work being invested in the (shared) project. It can also be a warning against mutual work, dealings with business partners and lacking (hard-working) colleagues.
3 of Pentacles can also point to ego struggles, unhealthy competition and lack of motivation. It can be an omen of strife within the team and teamwork being derailed and delayed.
In some extreme cases, 3 of Pentacles reversed can point towards a bad foundation and financial loss. It can also mean stagnation and being late with your progress. Take a closer look at the following cards, as this card reversed can mean getting fired, as well.
