We’ve come to the 9th card in the suit of Pentacles. This card is all about reward, enjoying the fruits of one’s labor, success, achievements unlocked and material security. 9 of Pentacles is that long-awaited and hard-worked for award. Rejoice and enjoy!
The predominant color of this card is yellow, standing for riches, pleasure, joy and confidence. The background, the ground, the pentacles, her glove and her robe are all yellow symbolizing splendor and riches.
Behind her are brown hills, an estate, two green trees and grapes ready for plucking; this all symbolizes her wealth, success and achievement. She has her right hand on 6 pentacles and the other 3 are on her flowing robe. On her left hand sits a hawk.
The Red and yellow combination of colors signifies material riches and finer things in life such as culture, arts, wines, cheeses and expensive textiles (so fashion). Hawk symbolizes wisdom (that comes with experience and years), perseverance and vitality.
There’s also a snail in front of her right foot, symbolizing the memory of progress and efforts that were needed in order to achieve this level of comfort and pleasure – hard work and energy invested are behind the Lady of Material Gain, but never forgotten.
9 of Pentacles is the card of material wealth and comfort. It represents the positive influences of the Moon on the Earth, and it symbolizes Venus in Virgo energy. This card means that you’ve recently inherited a big fortune, or you’re about to.
This is the card of arts, culture, fine wines and food, jewels, luxuries and expensive things. It’s also an omen of the time when you’re going to be able to dedicate time to yourself, and your self-care and just enjoy what’s around you and within you.
This card can also signify a middle-aged woman who’s settled most of her affairs, is well off and oozes beauty. She can be a potential partner who seeks perfection, or a patron-like influence in one’s life.
When 9 of Pentacles is reversed, it takes on a lot of properties of the Hermit card. It depicts a peculiar and eccentric individual who prefers one’s own company.
It can represent a stingy person or that something is wrong with the estate’s papers, or with the house in which the reader/asker resides. This card reversed can also imply that the fortune one has attained was done so in questionable ways and by questionable means.
It can also imply a marriage for benefits and the general dissatisfaction and unhappiness in one’s emotional life.
