This is the first court card in the suit of Cups and it brings love letters and messages, new romantic instances that have the power to raise and stir up emotions. This is the card of flaky (older) men who implement themselves in various love affairs and chase after taken women.
In this card, there’s a seemingly young man, but he could be middle-aged as well. He is wearing predominantly light blue and pink colors. On his head, there’s a turban resembling both the fish and the wave.
In his hand, he is holding a golden cup – the brightest object in the entire image, and from it, a fish head rises to symbolize fleeting news and flaky emotions.
He is standing on the yellow ground while there’s blue, wavy water (perhaps an ocean) behind him. The sky is grey, resembling clouds - thus clouded mind and illusions at the forefront of consciousness, being unable to discern truth from emotions.
Page of Cups upright represents in most occurrences a male person who is a bit flaky and emotionally unstable. This Page is the representation of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces placements) and as such he cannot be relied upon for something long-term, or stable.
Instead, what he can be reliable for, is the momentary pleasure, infatuation and idealized version of a love romance. He is a good communicator, his words and messages have a certain flair to them, they make you feel good.
But in the end, this is someone who cannot not disappoint you. The disenchantment is imminent with the Page of Cups, and you can cherish only the precious moments, but not the whole entanglement
UnlPage of Cups reversed is someone who you had dealings with before, and you know what to expect from this person.
This card reversed represents flaky and fleeting emotions and pretty words that are just that – pretty words, and nothing more.
This is a person who shows up when there’s a breakup or divorce waiting to happen, a breaking point of a relationship, someone who turns the tides but not necessarily for the better, but for the worst.
When this card appears reversed in a reading, it can signify someone who you know very well and you know what you can expect from this person, but they have the charm and the guts to try and fool you once again.
If this card was a planet, it would be both Mercury and Venus retrograde combined – a persistent ex who keeps coming back to you when they have nothing better to do.
This is a card of addiction, gambling and alcoholism as well, as it carries with it the spirit of weak will and succumbing to one’s basic instincts.
